Some time after the Civil War a group of veterans and other citizens began to play music in Alburtis. They eventually constructed a building and played inside on a stage for the residents. They called themselves the Alburtis Band.

Over the years, Country Music moved outside but the band continued playing on the site and by 1925, it eventually came to be known as "Mickley's Grove"! The sweet sounds of the country were provided by the Alburtis Band along with refreshments and home cooked food. The Grove and its buildings were then sold to the Alburtis Fire Company in 1929 . That building the band played in is today known as the Alburtis Fire company and the band's stage was located be behind where the bar is now located. The open lot with the bandshell was renamed at the time to ALBURTIS PARK.

Since then and through the 1970s central and eastern Pennsylvania were home to a number of family entertainment parks with names such as Bushkill Park, Sunset Park, Sleepy Hollow, Santa Fe Ranch, Himnelbergers Grove and Ontelauntee Park.

A person could not travel far without stumbling upon one of these precious gems - nestled in the woods or atop a mountain. Every Sunday, folks would come from miles around to enjoy an afternoon at these wonderful musical haunts. At just $1 a car load these parks were packed to see everyone from Roy Rodgers and Sally Star to later Nashville stars and local favorites. Park goers of all ages had a great time with good food, live entertainment, and fun-filled games all day long.

These parks have all but disappeared, only one remains. Life has changed, and the world with it. But, there is still one park striving to bring families and communities together for good old fashioned fun. Alburtis Park - 328 S. Main St, Alburtis, PA.

Alburtis Park is the Lehigh Valley's home for country music at a price the family can afford. Every Saturday and Sunday - May thru October. Alburtis Park is home to some of the area's favorite music talent, like The Majestics, Country Rhythm, The Moore Brothers, The Outlaws with Crazy Elmer and so many more. Folks come from all over the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas as far as New Jersey for home-cooked food, 50-50 raffles, bingo and, of course, good clean family entertainment.
